"Mr. Treves."

"Hmm?"

"There's been something that.... I've been meaning to ask you for some time now."

"What's that?"

"Can you cure me?"

".....No....... no; we, uh.... we can care for you, but we.... We can't cure you. No. "

".....I thought not."

Wow. I've read much about Treves, amazing work. It is saddening that he was so discriminated for his deformities. Very amazng art.

Heaven knows where I'll end up - but it's a safe bet that I'll never be at the top of anything! Nor do I particularly care to be. -H. P. Lovecraft

A very touching conversation between the two. Though it is very odd how so much money goes into cancer research and they come out only with a painful cure; Chemotherapy. I tend to like the colors you used. Gives it that hopeless kind of mood and almost a awakening / settling feeling. Good work bud!!

Very touching. Very real. I'm glad you added the conversation to it...otherwise the impact would be lost.

Very nice. The gentle colors add to the storytelling.

Brilliant atmosphere. Are these true real historical people? Or are they literary characters?

Sorry for just up and replying, but they are real people. Merrick, aka. "The Elephant Man" was a real person who suffered from a terrible disease. It's not certain which one it is, as it's so rare. It's actually still up for debate, but you should read up on him. It's very interesting stuff.
How he died is the saddest thing... :(

very sad and beautiful in its sadness,
your art is so much different from everything here, i've known ir since i saw your piece inspired by "Archipelag Gulag" by Solzenicyn :worship:
and your distutes you lead in your journals are so strangely fascinating

By wanting to sleep, like normal people, so I understand. Apparently, the weight of his head was excessive, to the point where it constricted his air pathways when he would lie down.

In the bg, barely visible, I rendered a drawing that he had made and hung up in his room: A child sleeping with his head resting on a pillow.
